15th Project Innovation Contest – 2026

(in conjunction with 22nd ICDCIT – 2026 )

The Project Innovation Contest (PIC), an offshoot of the ICDCIT, first debuted in 2012. Ever since it began, it has been helping society in a big way by giving young, creative people a chance to shine. One and only purpose of PIC is to inspire students to come up with innovative ideas that will improve people’s lives and the world at large.

Project contributions are invited for the 15th PIC-2026, which will be held in January 2026 in conjunction with the 22nd ICDCIT 2026. Students from various academic backgrounds are encouraged to participate, including B.E., B.Tech, BCA, BSc(Comp. Science), MBA, M.Tech, MCA, MSc, BBA, MBBS, and Diploma programs. The goal is for students to showcase their technical proficiency and creative problem-solving abilities through the use of Computer Science and Information Technology.

Students from various academic programs can display their technological talents and imaginative thinking by solving real-life challenges on the PIC platform.

The primary themes of Project Innovation Contest are given below but not restricted to:

  • Android apps
  • Web based projects
  • Cloud Computing projects
  • Automated Systems in Agriculture/ Healthcare
  • Networking Projects
  • Non-renewable energy source models
  • Ecosystem maintenance
  • Big Data Analytics
  • Image processing projects
  • NLP based Project
  • VLSI projects
  • Automatic Speech Recognition(ASR) based Project
  • Information security projects
  • Biomedical / Bio-informatics Projects
  • Internet of Things
  • Embedded systems projects
  • Micro-controller projects
  • Robotics projects

The submitted projects will undergo a blind peer evaluation procedure. The chosen project groups will be invited to exhibit their work through displayed models and presentations at the conference. The top three proposals will get appealing prizes. Additionally, the work from all selected projects will be published in a proceedings/book format with an ISBN (approval is now under progress).

Prize money

1st Prize: Rs. 15,000/-

2nd Prize: Rs. 10,000/-

3rd Prize: Rs. 7,000/-

Criteria for Qualification:

  • A team shall consist of no more than three individuals (two students and one advisor/mentor/guide).
  • Students may originate from any discipline, including B.E, B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, MSc, MBA, BCA, BBA, MBBS, and BSc in Computer Science, as well as Diploma programs.
  • Every team must possess an advisor, mentor, or guide.
  • Team members must be associated with the same educational institution.
  • The initiative must receive endorsement from the head of the Institute or Department.

Submission:

  • Only this link may be used to submit a soft copy of the project template.
  • Only chosen projects will be invited to the presentation, and they will be notified via the email address they have provided.
  • At the time of the final contest presentation, contestants must fulfil all of the following requirements:
    • Be enrolled in a school that has received accreditation.
    • Not participate in any aspect of the competition’s management.
    • Not now working on a separate project with a different team.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Each project will be evaluated by a minimum of two reviewers at the exhibition during the conference.
  • Further, each team must present their work with the help of a PPT presentation of around 10-12 minutes duration.
  • The evaluation, combined of exhibition marks and presentation marks, will be mainly based on the following key points:
    • Innovation
    • Societal contribution
    • Technology Adopted
    • Cost Incurred
    • Commercial Implications.
    • Compliance to any two of the 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)

Facility:

  • Accommodation in a university hostel will be provided for the participants of the selected project, limited to three members only.
  • Round-trip fare via the shortest route (limited to Sleeper Class) will be provided for external participants.
